Pumpkin Patch

Not a single picture of the boys when they are both looking at the camera.  They did enjoy a hay ride and picking out their pumpkins though.  Better luck with pictures next year!!

Zoo

Paul has been working a lot of weekends but when he is off we try to make a trip to the zoo.  It is fun to go with the boys now that they get excited to see the animals and run around and play.  Right now they are really into the fish, hippos, elephants and toddler play area.  These pictures are from about a month ago.  We went at about 8 in the morning to try and beat the heat but we looked like we had jumped in a pool within 10 minutes of arriving.  We were all dripping with sweat.  C + P still had a blast though :).

Happy September!

We pulled out the fall clothes for church today(despite the 100 degree temps)...
...this may or may not be because two boys do not fit in their summer clothes any more.  Doesn't Cy look happy?!

Portland

In June we took a trip to Portland.  The plane ride was, hmmmm, how do I put this nicely?  It was long.  C + P are actually very good travelers.  But 7 hours on an airplane with two lap babies is a little ridiculous.  We should have bought an extra seat.  Lesson learned.
We stayed with Paul's sister and brother in law and enjoyed the cool, rainy weather (50's and 60's!!).
We went for walks...
and enjoyed the GREEN scenery and time with Auntie Mae and Grandpa.
Does anyone in Texas remember what GREEN grass looks like?

Playing in the papasan chair was the favorite activity around the house
Sunday lunch with dad and grandpa was pretty good too!

We love Aunt Mae so much!
Hello, please meet Cy's belly.
 Presley's favorite face these days
We spent one day out at Cannon beach.  Yes, it is raining and yes it was 50 degrees.  Do you know what Paul said?  "This is perfect beach weather!"  Sigh.  Only in Oregon.
The boys LOVED the beach and could have cared less that it was cold and rainy.  They ran/fell into the water and were fascinated by the sand.

 Haystack rock
Even mom doesn't mind the cold and rain if it is fun for these two!
At some point they both discovered the piano and spent quite a bit of time playing on it.
Cy was very meticulous in choosing which key he wanted to play and hitting each note separately. (he was pretty good!)  Presley was more into banging as many keys as possible.
 Lessons with Grandpa.
Fun video of the boys out at lunch.  They're so scary!  haha.

Filler (but it's cute filler)

I have a TON of pictures that could be uploaded but I haven't been able to motivate myself.

In the meantime, please feel free to admire the raw talent of my 14 month old son swinging for the fences :).

13 months

Presley (l), Cy (r)
Cy and Pres are 13 months old and are up to all kinds of fun new things!  Both are walking now, although Cy does not really have any interest in it.  Presley kind of went through the same stage, so I am assuming Cy will pick back up again soon.  They are so much fun to play with these days and love to sing, dance and wrestle (well...Cy loves to wrestle and by default that means that Presley is always the one getting attacked.  I am not sure how much Pres actually likes it).  They are so loving and want to hug and kiss on each other and mommy and daddy all the time.  It is the absolute best!

Their favorite songs are 'If You're Happy and You Know It' and 'Wheels on the Bus'.  They love to do some of the hand motions and bop their little heads along while we sing to them.

They still love peek a boo and now will hide behind doors and furniture and pop their heads out in addition to playing peek a boo with their hands in front of their face.

Apparently they are big fans of my parents pool...Presley was throwing himself into the water when the boys stayed with Grammy and Pop last week.
My parents also taught them how to roar like a lion although I have not been able to get them to do it lately.

Paul taught them to beat on their chests when he asks them 'Who's the man?'  It's pretty cute!
They also point to their nose when you ask where it is (50/50 if they point to their nose or their cheeks, but they get the general idea) and when you ask them 'how big are the olers?' they raise their hands up over their head in response.

They also have started feeding themselves with a spoon, but again they have to be in the mood to do it themselves (and mommy does too, because it gets to be a verrrry long meal when they insist on spoon feeding themselves).
It also needs to be mentioned that they have now had 7 haircuts.  The amount of hair these two have is the most amazing thing.  To be perfectly honest they really need a haircut on a monthly basis, but I can't work up the energy to do it that often!

All in all these boys are still as sweet as ever, but growing more independent every day.  They have definite ideas about how and when they want to do things and do not always like to be instructed otherwise!

Easter

We started Easter weekend off with an Egg Hunt organized by MP at one of the local parks.  It was so much fun and Cy and Pres loved finding gold fish and Kix inside the eggs they found.
We got almost everyone in the group shot.

P Bob's on the move!

All of a sudden Presley started doing a lot of this tonight...
Go Presley Go!!
It's all right if you laugh at Paul and I for being total dweebs on the video...both Presley and Cy respond extremely well to it, so of course we keep it up.  There goes our reputation...haha ;-)

Seusstastical party!!

We celebrated Presley and Cy's birthday a couple of weeks ago at our house with a Thing 1 and Thing 2 themed party.  They both had such a great time and loved the cake and presents!  Presley basically shoved the entire cake in his mouth once he got over a little bit of stage fright and Cy was a little cleaner with his method.  Thanks to all of our friends who made it out for the party...it means so much to us :)

Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you...
For our family who missed the event:
New TOYS!!!  There is an entire post coming soon dedicated to their love of this truck.  Thanks Emery, Liz and Frank!!
